Program Description:

HWR Berlin Winter School

The Berlin School of Economics and Law offers an inspiring environment for expanding your academic horizon and for your personal enrichment. Our courses are taught by experienced faculty and cover topics in business, economics, entrepreneurship and business law with a focus on the European Union and in the field of German language & culture. You will be able to earn academic credit while studying and interacting with students from all over the world in a truly multicultural environment. 

  • International Business Strategy:
    The Role of Europe in a Changing World
  • Discover the international strategies initiated by companies
    from a European perspective. This two-week programme
    offers students the chance to undertake a demanding,
    in-depth study of international strategies combined with
    insights into the local culture.
  • 6 – 19 January 2019 
  • Beer and the Brewing Industry:
    Strategy and Brand Management
  • Discover the strategies that underpin the global brewing
    industry in one of the world’s most important beer markets.
    During this unique two-week programme students will
    explore the competitive strategies of global market leaders
    and the management challenges in craft beer production,
    distribution as well as brand management.
  • 6 – 19 January 2019
  • 3 SDSU units per course
  • 5 European credits (ECTS) per course for 50 contact hours (40 contact hours business course incl. study visits and 10 contact hours German culture and society)
Course Language

Upper undergraduate students of business, economics and related fields (after two years of study) or graduates with good standing.

Student Hostel (double room).
Arrival 6 January (move-in), departure 19 January

Culture and Leisure Time Programme
The winter school team offers participants a wide variety
of optional cultural and social events in Berlin and the surrounding
area (e. g. museums, ice-skating, palaces, trips to
Potsdam and Sachsenhausen) about twice a week.
