Program Description:
About Nanyang University:

A research-intensive public university, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has 33,500
undergraduate and postgraduate students in the colleges of Engineering, Business, Science and Humanities, Arts, & Social Sciences. In 2013, NTU enrolled the first batch of students at its new medical school, the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, which is jointly set up with Imperial College London.

NTU is also home to four world-class autonomous institutes - the National Institute of Education,
S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Earth Observatory of Singapore, and Singapore
Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering - and various leading research centres such as the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute (NEWRI) and the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N). A fast-growing university with an international outlook, NTU is putting its global stamp on the Five Peaks of Excellence: Sustainable Earth, Future Healthcare, New Media, New Silk Road and Innovation Asia.

Program Details:
Delivered by NTU's Confucius Institute, this program is designed to equip students with basic Chinese language skills as well as expose them to Chinese culture. It consists of 2 parts, covering Chinese language and Chinese cultural studies, for a total of 6 units.
The program will be conducted over 3 weeks from 4 to 22 January 2016, Mondays to Fridays, 9.30am - 5.00pm, at the NTU campus.

All GEM Trailblazer Winter Programme Students shall be accommodated at Hotel West, within 
ITE College West.

Hotel West is a 22-room training hotel designed for authentic learning for students studying 
Hospitality Service courses at ITE College West. The training hotel is also opened to guests 
from ITE's institutional partners. All reservations for guestrooms at Hotel West will be through the GEM Trailblazer Short Term Programme office.
GEM Trailblazer Short Term Programme office will specially arrange for a two-way transport 
between Hotel West and NTU daily for the duration of the programme (Monday- Friday only; 
exclude weekends).
NTU is pleased to offer very attractive winter tuition rates.

The administrative fee covers application; orientation; cultural & social activities; daily transport to NTU from ITE Hotel West; university miscellaneous fees; insurance, etc.

NTU will offer off-campus housing for all applicants.

There are limited vacancies (17 twin sharing rooms) for off-campus accommodation at ITE Hotel West. Thus, allocation of accommodation will be on a first-come-first served basis. Students may be allocated accommodation at Genting Hotel or YWCA Fort Canning Lodge which charges different room rates as above should all vacancies in ITE Hotel West are filled up.

Please note: The NTU site indicates a fee structure for exchange participants, which seems to imply no tuition is charged. NTU does not charge tuition for exchange participants because student pay tuition to their home campus instead. SDSU tuition is MORE than the tuition costs at NTU, for both resident and non-resident paying students. SDSU students will not have the option to participate as an exchange student since we have no official Winter Session.

No payments are due until your application is approved and you formally accept placement from the host university.
