Program Description:
**To submit a successful application for this program, you must click "Apply Now" on the right hand side of the Aztecs Abroad program page, then complete an application on the MICEFA website. 

ACADEMIC PROFILE

This four-week program welcomes all levels of French and consists of daily French language classes taken with other American and European students at the Institut de Langue et de Cultures Françaises (ILCF) at the Institut Catholique de Paris.

This program is an excellent way to garner French skills, improve oral comprehension and gain university credits over the summer! 

ELIGIBILITY
  • Students will need to complete the Aztecs Abroad application simultaneously with the MICEFA host application no later than the March 1, 2018 deadline. For any questions, contact the advisor (wcabal@sdsu.edu). 
  • 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Sophomore standing
  • Proficiency in the French language is NOT required. Classes at the Catholic Institute are available for complete beginners up to advanced speakers.
  • Students will be required to do an online placement test before arriving in Paris (mid-June). If the student does not do the online placement, they will be required to do a written placement test during the July 2nd enrollment at the Catholic Institute of Paris. All students will be required to do an oral interview to confirm their written/online placement level.

PROGRAM DATES 
Arrival date: Saturday, July 1st, 2018 (this means departure from the US on Friday, June 30th, 2018)
Program End Date: Saturday, July 31, 2018

HOUSING
Housing options are outlined on the website. Students may choose between a dormitory (Cite U) and homestay (Atome).

COST
  • There are two program options, and the program cost will depend on the program option that the student selects. Program options and their respective costs are outlined on their website.
  • All SDSU students are required by the Chancellor's office to be enrolled in the CSU Foreign Traveler Insurance Program (CSU FTIP) for the duration of their program abroad. The insurance charge will appear on the student's account services billing. Students will receive more detailed instructions regarding insurance before departure. For price information, click here
INSURANCE REQUIREMENT

PASSPORT AND VISA
You must have a valid passport to participate on an exchange program. Your passport must be valid for the duration of the program and for at least 6 months past the program end date. 

If you plan to travel to other countries during your stay in France, be sure you are aware of the requirements for entry. Visit the Department of State website for more details for each country.
