Program Description:
University Profile
The University of Applied Sciences HTW Chur was founded in 1963 and is a member of the Universities of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland (FHO). With approximately 1600 students, HTW Chur provides an excellent learning environment with an intimate atmosphere, modern facilities, and small, student-oriented classes. The HTW Chur English-language tourism study programs attract international students from all over the world who want to benefit from Switzerland's long tradition and international reputation in the field of tourism education.

Language Notes
Tourism Bachelor and Master programs are taught entirely in English. 
German language courses are also available at HTW Chur.

Housing and Meals
Student Dorm "Konvikt" is a popular option for international students. Price per semester including half-board is 3390 Swiss Francs (approx. 3800 USD)

Another option is to live in a flat-share with Swiss students. Prices range from 500-800 Swiss Francs per month (approx. 560-900 USD)

Insurance Requirement
All SDSU students will be automatically enrolled in the appropriate international health insurance for their study abroad term. The insurance charge will appear on your student account services billing shortly before departure. Students will receive more detailed instructions regarding insurance before departure.

Upon acceptance into the program, students must apply to the Swiss consulate in San Francisco for a student visa.  For a student visa of over 90-days duration, the application can usually be done by e-mail.  Students will also apply for a residence permit upon arrival in Switzerland.  The HTW Chur international office supports students in applying for the permit.  Fees for Visa and residence permit are paid for by the student.
