Program Description:
University Profile
Erasmus University Rotterdam is a research university, driven by a strong focus on current social issues. It has 2 main campuses, Erasmus MC, and Woudestein which houses the majority of Erasmus University's faculties and research schools. Erasmus MC, situated in the heart of Rotterdam, is the Netherlands' largest and most multi-faceted academic medical center. Because of its height and remarkable design it is a genuine Rotterdam landmark. Erasmus University has a student body of over 21,000 students including many international students.

Academic Notes
SDSU exchange students have access to virtually all courses in Media and Communication and to designated courses in other academic fields (e.g. Arts and Culture Studies, Sociology, Philosophy, History, Public Administration) that are represented at Erasmus University with the exception of Medicine, Psychology, and Law.

Language Notes
The International Bachelor Communication and Media is fully taught in English, as are the International Bachelors in Business Administration and Economics and Business Economics.  Rotterdam offers a total of 28 English taught Master and Research Master programmes.

Semester 1: Early September to Early February (early final exams may be arranged or a re-sit scheduled after return to SDSU)

Note: At Erasmus University Rotterdam, SDSU considers 2000+ level courses as upper division. 

Housing and Meals
Off-campus housing must be located by each exchange student in Rotterdam.  However, there are numerous resources to utilize in the search and the exchange coordinator can provide recommendations as well.  See the information for incoming exchange students on the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication website.

Insurance Requirement
All SDSU students will be automatically enrolled in the appropriate international health insurance for their study abroad term. The insurance charge will appear on your student account services billing shortly before departure. Students will receive more detailed instructions regarding insurance before departure.
