Program Description:
University Profile
Karlshochschule International University is a private, state-accredited university providing a career-focused management education, with a strong international and intercultural orientation. Students enjoy an individualized education, with small classes and student-focused advising. Study entirely in English in fields of Business, Management, Communication and Tourism and spend your free time in one of the city’s numerous cafes, shopping streets or on a trip to the vineyards of the Black Forest.

Grading system
1.0-1.5 = Excellent
1.6-2.5 = Good
2.6-3.5 = Satisfactory
3.6-4.0 = Fair/Sufficient (minimum passing grade)
4.1-5.0 = Insufficient


Language Notes
Most courses taught in English. Coursework in English includes:
Business Administration, German, Hospitality & Tourism Management, International Business, and Marketing.

Program Dates
Students are encouraged to go to Karlsruhe during the spring or full academic year. Fall semester only is possible for certain subjects with early exams in January.

Semester 1: Early September to Late January (Fall)
Semester 2: February to Early July (Spring)

Hints for Researching Program and Available Courses
Upon successful completion of your Aztecs Abroad profile and application, your SDSU Study Abroad Advisor will nominate you to apply to Karlshochschule as an exchange student. At that time, you will receive an updated course list. To get an idea of courses offered, please refer to the 2015-2015 Course Catalog below. Keep in mind, courses are subject to change every semester. 

Housing and Meals
The International Office can assist you with your search for accommodation. Please contact them as soon as possible to allow for enough time to find the right accommodation for you. Contact:

Exchange students are strongly encouraged to make housing arrangements as soon as possible. It is not advisable to arrive shortly before the start of the semester without having a place to stay. Students should secure housing before arriving in Karlsruhe.

Insurance Requirement
All SDSU students will be automatically enrolled in the appropriate international health insurance for their study abroad term. The insurance charge will appear on your student account services billing shortly before departure. Students will receive more detailed instructions regarding insurance before departure.
