University Profile
The University of Technology Sydney is located in Australia’s capital, Sydney, and is composed of approximately 30,000 students. The university was founded in its current form in 1988, although its origins trace back to the 1870s. UTS is notable for its central location as the only university with its main campuses within the Sydney CBD. It is part of the Australian Technology Network of universities and has the fifth largest enrollment in Sydney. UTS was one of two Australian Universities given A1 ratings across all major disciplines in 2007 and 2008 by the Federal Government Education department.

Insurance Requirement
As a compulsory condition of a student visa, all international students must have approved Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), which provides medical and hospital coverage for international students while in Australia.

All SDSU students will be automatically enrolled in the appropriate international health insurance for their study abroad term. The insurance charge will appear on your student account services billing shortly before departure. Students will receive more detailed instructions regarding insurance before departure.

Visa
U.S. citizens must acquire a student visa to study in Australia. Please refer to the Embassy of Australia website for more information about what is required to obtain that student visa. You will need the Certificate of Enrollment and Offer Letter in order to apply for the visa. 

Location Summary 
UTS has 3 campuses . The main UTS campus is located in the centre of the city of Sydney , adjacent to Central Railway Station and Chinatown . It is within walking distance or UTS Campusan easy bus ride away from most of Sydney 's main attractions including the Sydney Opera House and the harbour. Most UTS programs are offered at the city campus and students are ideally placed to take advantage of being in the centre of a cosmopolitan and dynamic city. Some UTS teaching also takes place at the Kuring-Gai Campus in Lindfield. This is focused around the School of Leisure Sport and Tourism and the Faculty of Education. The St Leonards Campus hosts biological sciences.
