University Profile
La Trobe University’s largest campus - Melbourne (Bundoora) is located 14km from the Central Business District of Melbourne. Melbourne is often referred to as Australia’s cultural and sport capital and was voted the world’s most livable city in 2011, based on its cultural attributes, climate, cost of living, and social conditions such as crime rates and health care. La Trobe University has six campuses with their second largest campus in the beautiful regional town of Bendigo.

Academic Notes
You must identify your chosen subjects (courses) on the La Trobe University application. The staff and faculty will review them and determine which ones are available and for which you meet any necessary pre-requisites. 

Language Notes
All classes are taught in English.

Program Dates
LTU Semester 1 (SDSU Spring semester)  = February to June
LTU Semester 2 (SDSU Fall semester)  = July to November

Please note that these dates may account for orientation the week before classes start and the final examination period.

Insurance Requirement
As a compulsory condition of a student visa, all international students must have approved Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), which provides medical and hospital coverage for international students while in Australia.

All SDSU students will be automatically enrolled in the appropriate international health insurance for their study abroad term. The insurance charge will appear on your student account services billing shortly before departure. Students will receive more detailed instructions regarding insurance before departure.

Visa
U.S. citizens must acquire a student visa to study in Australia. Please refer to the Embassy of Australia website for more information about what is required to obtain that student visa. Students will need the Certificate of Enrollment and Offer Letter in order to apply for the visa.La Trobe University Campus

Location Summary 
The Melbourne (Bundoora) campus is located less than 9 miles from the Melbourne city center. This is La Trobe's largest campus and one of the most attractive university campuses in Australia , with a student population of 18,000. The campus covers 330 hectares (approximately 500 acres) of stunning parkland with its own waterways and a wildlife sanctuary.

Travel between central Melbourne and the campus is easy and takes about 20-30 minutes by bus or car and 50 minutes by tram.
