Program Description:
Internships Abroad
*This program application is for International Business majors.

International Internships can be a rewarding experience for students to acquire business expertise in a foreign country. Internships abroad are supervised career-related learning opportunities that offer students the chance to develop hands-on experience in working in a business field abroad. By participating in international internship students develop the skills, cultural knowledge and business acumen necessary to conduct business internationally.

Students complete a internship abroad while concurrently enrolled in "IB 495 International Business Internships" at SDSU. IB495 is a 3 unit Credit/No-Credit class. .

Students from the College of Business, or related majors, who wish to receive credit for a business internship abroad are welcome to add the course with approval from the International Business Internship Coordinator.
Location Summary

Internships are available in various countries around the world and in a variety of business fields. We partner with providers, universities and companies to offer students a variety of opportunities. Our list of partners is available to students once they meet with the Internship Coordinator.

Academic Notes
Students must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and 2.0 major GPA
Students must be upper division
Must have a current study plan on file.
Language Notes

Some locations will require a proficiency in the spoken language.
International Business majors: 2 upper division language courses are required prior to going abroad.
Insurance Requirement

Students are automatically enrolled in education abroad insurance prior to departure.
You will receive an email with your insurance information and be billed via your SDSU account. If you are using a provider you may be eligible to purchase an overlay plan only. Fee information can be found here:

Application Deadlines
April 1 for Summer Semester Abroad
March 15 for Fall Semester Abroad
October 31 for Spring Semester Abroad
