Scholarships available to students pursuing many different types of programs and destinations

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies or credit-bearing, career oriented internships abroad. All applicants must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant or provide proof that he/she will be receiving a Pell Grant at the time of application or during the term of his/her study abroad program or internship.

Fund for Education Abroad
FEA is committed to increasing the opportunities for dedicated American students to participate in high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs by reducing financial restrictions through the provision of grants and scholarships. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled as undergraduates in US universities/colleges who plan to study abroad for at least four weeks. Fund for Education Abroad awards are intended to support students planning to participate in high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs

Golden Key Study Abroad Scholarship
This scholarship assists members who are going to participate in a study abroad program. With the global economy in today's world, Golden Key feels it is crucial for members to have education-based study abroad experiences. Hostelling International USA Travel Scholarships
At HI USA we think travel should be as much about making a difference in the world as it is about seeing it, so we've created the Explore the World Travel Scholarship. Recipients of the scholarship receive $2,000 to help finance their international trip as long as they have an educational or service component to their itinerary. We give to you, so you can give back.

ISEP Community Scholarship
The ISEP Community Scholarship supports the ISEP mission of extending access and affordability of study abroad. Students from an ISEP member institution (SDSU included) with demonstrated financial need and any students statistically underrepresented in study abroad are encouraged to apply. Only available to participants in ISEP programs.

International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ) Scholarships for SDSU students
International Volunteer HQ is proud to offer two deserving San Diego State University students the opportunity to contribute to meaningful community projects in one of 40+ destinations through the IVHQ SDSU Volunteer Abroad Scholarship.

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants
Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.75.  Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Fifty $1,000 grants are awarded each year.

San Diego Foundation Study Abroad Scholarship
The San Diego Foundation is the largest private scholarship provider in San Diego County outside of the university systems. They have one online application to access more than 100 scholarships, with awards from $1,000 to more than $5,000. Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors, college students and adult re-entry students attending four-year universities, community colleges, career/technical schools and graduate schools. Among these, is a scholarship just for students studying abroad. Apply using the Common Scholarship Application The online application is available in early December and the submission deadline is early February for study abroad during the following academic year.
